Sunday Weigh-In: Back on Track with 30 Days to Go
This past week wasn’t perfect — not even close.
My workouts were inconsistent, and I gave in to a few more food choices than I should have. But despite that, the scale moved in the right direction.
This morning: 269.4 pounds.
That’s down from 272.7 pounds last week.
I’ll take it.
It’s proof of something important: even when things aren’t dialed in, progress is still possible. But it also makes me think — if I tighten things up, how much more could I accomplish over the next 30 days?
The Timeline Just Got Real
Today is April 19th, and with our updated travel plans, we now arrive in Cancun on May 19th.
That gives me exactly 30 days.
Originally, the goal was 250 pounds. Let’s be honest — dropping 19 pounds in 30 days might sound good in supplement ads, but it’s not a realistic or sustainable target.
So I’m adjusting — not lowering expectations, but refining them into something I can attack with consistency.
Updated Targets
I’m setting three clear benchmarks for the next 30 days:
- Primary Target: 257 pounds
- Minimum Goal: 260 pounds
- Stretch Goal (Overachieve): 254 pounds
If I average about 3 pounds per week, I land right around that 257 mark — and that’s a pace that’s aggressive, but achievable.
The Plan: No More Guesswork
The next 30 days aren’t about motivation — they’re about execution.
1. Move Every Day
No more “off days.” Activity is non-negotiable.
- Lift
- Cardio
- Bike
- Walk
- Golf
With the weather turning, there’s no excuse not to get outside and move.
2. Eliminate Fast Food
This is one of the easiest wins available.
When I control my meals:
- I control portions
- I control ingredients
- I control outcomes
Simple as that.
3. Clean Up the Extras
This is where weeks are won or lost.
- More water
- Smarter snacks
- Cut back on chocolate and desserts
Not eliminate completely — but be intentional.
The Mindset Shift
Here’s what stands out most:
I made progress this week without being fully locked in.
So what happens if I actually commit — for real — over the next 30 days?
- 12 pounds lost? Very doable.
- 15 pounds? Within reach.
This is the home stretch, and for the first time, it feels real.
Not just the trip. Not just the number on the scale.
But proving to myself that I can follow through.
Final Thought
The next 30 days aren’t about being perfect.
They’re about stacking disciplined days, one after another.
Show up. Move. Eat with purpose. Repeat.
Let’s see just how far I can push this.
