Weigh-In July 1, 2026

I had a great week over in Chaska, Minnesota, volunteering at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship! It was an incredible experience working inside the ropes and getting to watch some of the best women’s golfers in the world up close. Being around that level of talent and dedication is always inspiring.

I also did a lot of walking during the week, which was definitely a positive. On the other hand, I had more fast food than I normally would, so I wasn’t quite sure how it would affect my weight when I stepped on the scale.

Since I was away this past weekend, I did my usual Sunday weigh-in on Wednesday, July 1. Hard to believe we’re already halfway through the year. That means I have six months left to accomplish a new goal: losing at least 30 pounds by the end of 2026.

Breaking it down, I’m asking myself to lose five pounds each month. That seems like a very realistic and achievable goal if I stay consistent with my workouts and make better choices with my eating habits.

The good news is that I weighed in at 269.8 pounds this morning! I actually lost some weight despite the unusual week, the travel, and the fast food. I’ll gladly take that small victory because it proves that even when life gets busy, progress is still possible.

Now it’s time to get back into my normal routine. I truly believe I can average five pounds per month if I limit the fast food, cut back on the chocolate, and avoid sugary drinks as much as possible.

Tomorrow I begin my new workout schedule. I think I’ll be more consistent with a plan that includes four days of strength training and two days of cardio each week. Add in some recreational walking and biking, and I should have a solid foundation to reach my goal.

One thing I really need to improve is my activity level at home. I spend too much time sitting in my recliner, and those hours add up. I need to be more disciplined about getting up and moving, even if it’s only for a short session. Whether it’s a chair exercise routine, a few push-ups, bodyweight squats, or some stretching, a little bit of daily movement can make a big difference over time.

I often talk about discipline and consistency, and that’s because I truly believe they are the keys to success. Weight loss doesn’t come from one perfect day or one great workout. It comes from making good choices over and over again.

So, here we go. Six months left in the year, 30 pounds to lose, and a fresh start beginning today. The journey to 240 pounds continues, one workout, one meal, and one good decision at a time.

“What goals are you working toward during the second half of the year?”
